Using Existing Systems to Supplement Small Amounts of Annotated Grammatical Relations Training Data
نویسنده
چکیده
Grammatical relationships (GRs) form an important level of natural language processing, but di erent sets of GRs are useful for di erent purposes. Therefore, one may often only have time to obtain a small training corpus with the desired GR annotations. To boost the performance from using such a small training corpus on a transformation rule learner, we use existing systems that nd related types of annotations.

Adapting to Learner Errors with Minimal Supervision
This article considers the problem of correcting errors made by English as a Second Language writers from a machine learning perspective, and addresses an important issue of developing an appropriate training paradigm for the task, one that accounts for error patterns of non-native writers using minimal supervision. Existing training approaches present a trade-off between large amounts of cheap...
متن کاملThe Workshop Programme 9:15–9:30 Opening: Aims of the workshop 9:30–10:00 Relational evaluation schemes
We describe extensions to a scheme for evaluating parse selection accuracy based on named grammatical relations between lemmatised lexical heads. The scheme is intended to directly reflect the task of recovering grammatical and logical relations, rather than more arbitrary details of tree topology. There is a manually annotated test suite of 500 sentences which has been used by several groups t...

متن کاملHow consistent are our discourse annotations? Insights from mapping RST-DT and PDTB annotations
Discourse-annotated corpora are an important resource for the community, but they are often annotated according to different frameworks. This makes comparison of the annotations difficult, thereby also preventing researchers from searching the corpora in a unified way, or using all annotated data jointly to train computational systems. Several theoretical proposals have recently been made for m...
متن کاملSynthesizing Training Data for Object Detection in Indoor Scenes
Detection of objects in cluttered indoor environments is one of the key enabling functionalities for service robots. The best performing object detection approaches in computer vision exploit deep Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) to simultaneously detect and categorize the objects of interest in cluttered scenes. Training of such models typically requires large amounts of annotated training ...
